Fee Increases at the EPO

Further to the recent announcement of plans at the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO) to increase official fees this year, the European Patent  Office (EPO) has also announced that fee increases will be coming into force from April 2026.

The EPO has confirmed that the majority of their official fees for patent applications will be increasing by around 4.5 to 5.5%.

Significant savings could be made if filings, or any other actions on applications affected by these fee increases, at both the UKIPO and EPO, can be made prior to April 2026.
