Senior staff recruited to ip21's professional team

Ed Clarke has joined ip21’s London office as the firm continues to strengthen its senior team of IP professionals. Ed is a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney with 15 years’ experience in the IP profession. A MPhys graduate from the University of Manchester, Ed has represented clients in relation to a wide range of technologies from mechanical to electronic to medical equipment. His clients have ranged from startups and individual inventors to quoted companies with much in between.

Ed will be primarily based in ip21’s new London office on St Martin’s Le Grand, right next to St Paul’s Underground station in the heart of The City, but will also spend regular time in ip21’s newest Chelmsford office to offer advice and support to the firm’s Essex client base.

This appointment follows on from the addition of Cristina Penine to ip21’s Bury office in 2016. Cristina is a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney, holds a BSc in Physics and Computer Science as well as a PhD in Solar Physics from Cambridge University. Cristina has worked as a researcher in Canada, USA (at the NASA Space Flight Centre), Japan, and here in the UK at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory during her career.

Having trained and qualified at a leading London firm, Cristina has broad experience drafting, filing, prosecuting and enforcing IP Rights on behalf of some of the world’s leading innovators. Her particular industry specialisms include: computing, photonics, oil & gas engineering, electrical engineering and general mechanical engineering.

These senior appointments have strengthened ip21’s service capacity and advisory expertise across the business as ip21 continues to build for the future.
