Having trained and qualified as both a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney at a leading London firm, Cristina has over 10 years experience in drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent and registered design applications.
Cristina has represented clients in relation to a wide range of technologies in the mechanical, high tech electronics and optical fields, including computer-implemented inventions. She has a particular interest and experience in emerging technologies including blockchain applications and artificial intelligence (AI) systems.
Cristina works with a diverse range of clients, from private inventors to multinational companies. She has successfully represented clients in opposition procedures before the European Patent Office, managed substantial international portfolios, and provided freedom to operate opinions as well as wider strategic IP advice.
Cristina holds a BSc in Physics and Computer Science from Trent University in Canada and a PhD in Solar Physics from Cambridge University, UK. Prior to joining the IP profession in 2008, Cristina worked as a researcher in Canada, the USA (at the NASA Space Flight Centre) and Japan.
