John Weston is a European Trade Mark & Design Attorney with over 24 years experience in matters relating to trade marks and other related Intellectual Property. He has an honours degree in mechanical engineering from Portsmouth University. John joined Oakleigh IP in March 2017 having previously worked with London IP Attorneys Phillips & Leigh.
John is a professional representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in addition to representing clients at the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO). He has a large number of direct clients in the UK, USA, and mainland Europe in a wide variety of different commercial fields such as clothing, retail, education, sports and leisure equipment, floor coverings, food and drinks sector, web technology.
He has great experience in the prosecution of trade marks throughout the world and directly in the UK and Europe, management of client IP portfolios, IP filing strategies, dispute resolution, settlement negotiations and the maintenance and renewal of IP rights.
John is an active member of INTA contributing to the renowned Country Guides publication as one of the principal editors.
