She joined IP21 in 2002 from another IP Practice and subsequently qualified as an Authorised Representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and became a Chartered UK Trade Mark Attorney (UK Registered Trade Mark Attorney as was pre-CITMA’s Royal Charter). Before that she was a Copenacre indentured Apprentice with the MoD before working on several engineering projects, both in-country and abroad with NATO and the armed forces.

Within the IP Profession, Melanie has been a member of INTA’s Non-Traditional Trade Marks Committee since 2016 and currently Chairs their Europe and Central Asia subcommittee.
