Paul joined ip21 in October 2011. A graduate chemist of Swansea University, he spent 13 years as a Research Chemist working in a large Industrial Research and Development Department. This included 2 years seconded to the labs of a German sister company. During this time he specialised in the development of new and stable peroxyacid compounds and formulations.

Transferring to the in-house patents department he gained a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College, London before moving to a European-based private practice and qualifying as a European Patent Attorney. Paul advises in a wide range of disciplines and has clients from the chemical, materials science, oil and gas, renewable energy and mechanical engineering sectors.

With over 25 years' experience in IP, Paul now heads up ip21's work for defence and aerospace equipment suppliers and related tech/software firms. Paul is fluent in English and German, and enjoys actively engaging with the wider business community in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
